The Xamped Film Festival showcases the achievements of extreme athletes in unique situations, from blind climbers to double amputee pro snowboarders and paraplegics who do back flips in wheel chairs. This project is important because it presents films which absolutely crush the "I can't" perception for anyone who sees them.
Not only does this help and inspire everyday people, but it is also very valuable to the rehabilitation of highly active athletes who face limb loss or paralysis. In almost every case, extreme athletes and people like our soldiers from Iraq who face life-altering injuries, feel that the life they once knew is now over. Nothing is more powerful in helping those in this situation to beat the depression and hopelessness then to see with their own eyes that anything is possible.
The Xamped Film Festival has a threefold mission:

1. To overcome the hopelessness felt by an soldier, athlete or everyday person when they are faced with a traumatic, life changing injury.
2. To reward film makers whose work celebrates overcoming adversity.
3. To support the eXtremity Games -an event that provides challenged athletes with competitive opportunities and helps new athletes get involved in extreme sports.

To accomplish this mission the Xamped Film Festival collects the best films of challenged athletes in extreme sports and makes them available to the public, to hospitals, social workers and more, to be used to uplift and inspire all who watch.
Filmmakers have the chance to win cash and film awards for their work while getting national and international exposure.
This festival is presented by prosthetics manufacturer Symbiotechs USA, LLC as a way to get involved with an event they feel is very important to our wounded soldiers and extreme athletes everywhere.
